Dave Gets a Tattoo on his last day on Kauai

It all started with a drawing as all tattoos do... but this one was special. 1. I'm in Hawaii, 2. It is traditional Hawaiian, 3. It's my design but "Uncle Tim's" layout and artestry... I started with one of his basic Honu (Sea Turtle) designs, I used it's outline, then...


...took elements from this book in which it showed a Hawaiian design, and then with a few suggestions back and forth...


Tada! I have this design... This is just the stencil ink on me at this point.

Okay, about 20 minutes into the tattoo, "Uncle Tim" was finished with the outline...

Well anyway, Thanks Uncle Tim... I really love my tattoo. Thanks to him fitting me in on short notice... I had not planned ahead when coming to Hawaii to get my tattoo, but Uncle Tim got me in and ended up staying two hours past his closing time to do my tattoo. He then tossed me on my ear (after paying of course) and rushed me out the door, but not until he shook my hand and we exchanged Mahalo's...
